Westlife -Queen Of My Heart

This song is going around and around in my head tonight.

A few days ago i posted a picture of what i wore a friends wedding 2 weeks ago. I said in that post that i would also post more pictures of the fantastic day later in the week and here they are.

The beautiful day was held a Golf and Spa resort in the Welsh mountains, It’s not to far from where i live just 20 minutes in the car. Before the ceremony we all gathered in the bar all the guests greeting each other, It was very nice to see people which i hadnt seen for a while. It also gave us a chance to see the Groom, Best Man and Dad’s who all wore kilts! Now i know kilts can be a dodgy subject but i must say they all looked handsome and so right for the occasion. Simon (the groom) was clearly a little nervous as he waited patiently for 2pm.

The room where the ceremony was held was beautifully decorated with white chair covers and pink bands around them. We took our seats (the brides side) and were treated to the beautiful sound of a fantatstic harpist playing the couples engagement song so elegantly.  Rachel (the bride) was a little late which added to the excitement of the wedding, like most girls her wedding was he special day and she had to  make sure everything  was perfect before she walked down the aisle. We later found out that she had to basically dress her Dad into his kilt as he go a little tied up in it all.

The one and only bridesmaid (the bride and grooms daughter) walked down the aisle before Rachel and i must admit tears sprung to my eyes. Lowri who is eleven and i’ve known her since she was born looked so grown up and excited yet very nervous, Her dress was a floor length chiffon gown with a strap over her left shoulder her thick blonde hair tied in curls and side platt which fell over her right shoulder. She looked beautiful and the pink gown was a perfect match to the bestman and dad’s cravat and the pink ands around our chairs. Rachel’s entrance was truely beautiful, she to wore a floor length gown, the colour ivory which had a strap (like Lowri’s) over her left arm, the basque was a beautiful sweeheart shaped style and the dress elegently fell to the floor to a fantastic train.

It was clear to everyone in the room that Simon was blown away by his beautiful bride, He couldnt resist the urge of pecking her lips when she arrived at the bottom of the aisle to marry him, Her childhood sweetheart. The Service was personal and intimate for the 50 or so guests and it was a nice length of time probably no more than 25 minutes. The bride shed a few tears the look of pride on Lowri’s face as she watched her Mum and Dad get married was a joy to see. As the service ended the harpist continued with her beautiful playing and we all got treated to a lovely bucksfizz before photo’s out on the lawn with the gorgeous surroundings of the mountains.

A Delicious 4 course meal of leek and potato soup, Beef Dinner, Welsh penderryn whisky and chocolate cake and coffee and Welsh cakes was served before the speeches, The table decorations of pink and white fresh flowers sat in tall vases looked beautiful among the whites and pinks of the table cloths and seat covers. The speaches as we thought were very emotional and moving for two families who had known each other a number of years, and the best man’s speech made for fantastic listening, Not only did he talk of his bestfriend Simon, but also his close friend Rachel and their fantastic stories. It must be said that Lowri’s speeh which was short was possibly my faveourite, She wished her parents all the best in the future and thanked them for being amazing which got a lovely “aww” from the guests not happy with this but she then thanked her parents for finally “making me legal” which of course made everyone laugh louder than some of the bestmans stories.

The day was over way to quickly it seemed within minutes we were back into the wedding room where tables had been changed around and a dance floor had been made for the evening celebrations. Rachel and Simon took to the  dancefloor for their first dance. The DJ played music from the 60’s (which seen the mother of the jive dnacing with 2 of her nephews) all though to modern music (which left me being outdanced by the brides step father when it came to I gotta feeling) People in the room from the youngest 11 to the oldest 80 all enjoyed such a beautiful Welsh wedding. I’ve known Rachel and Simon for a long time nearly 15 years and i wish them all the happiness and love in the furture.

Thanks both for inviting me, I throughly had a good time.

Still makes me go wow

Mini Me

Today i went to visit my Grandad, as always i brought him up to the village where i live so he could go on his weekly meeting up the social club. On our way we decided to pop into my Uncles, The baby of our family Hollie was also at home, She’s recently turned 8 and have suddenly got into music and a certain boy band. Yes. One Direction!

Everyone says Hollie is the Image of me when I was younger, but tonight i’ve realised shes a little more like me than i thought. Firstly the music: Cute, Good looking, Boyband members. The both of us turn to mush. Ok, I’m not a One Direction fan but i am a Westlife fan and when Hollie looked at her One Direction poster today i knew instantly that it’s going to be at least a few months before she snaps out of it. I’m hoping a few months anyway. It’s been 12 years for my love of Westlife and i’m still waiting to snap out of it! but i’ll hope.

Suprisingly though, the second thing is Fashion: Hollie breaks up for Easter tomorrow and at school they are having a non-uniform day. The conversation whilst i was there shifted ever so slightly from her obsession with One Direction and onto what she would wear tomorrow. My Aunt thought her One D T-shirt with red skinny jeans would be nice. Hollie Didnt. Apparently red is “not that in” and she’d much rather wear her turquoise jeans as they are a much better colour for “this time of year” I couldnt comment as i was to dumbfounded. She is kind of right but where did she get this knowledge? and when did she grow up? lol

Love it!
